McJ is looking for a tenured, organized, detail-oriented director of business affairs to join our production team. We view business affairs as an important, vital and respected partner in the creative production process. We are hoping to find someone who is excited about the changing, wild world of production we are living in. The director of business affairs will be in charge of managing and mitigating the risks associated with content programs in digital, experiential, print, radio and TV buys.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Partners with producers and the brand teams to problem solve and proactively manage our clients’ production needs
- Identifies and flags risks relating to intellectual property, the regulatory environment, SAG concerns, etc.
- Recommends and assists in implementing agency policy and process regarding risk management to teams and senior management
- Vets vendors for compliance with contracting guidelines
- Manages content review process throughout campaign development (treatments, scripts, rough cuts, final cuts)
- Reevaluates contracting guidelines to address rapidly changing executions
- Manages a heavy volume of correspondence and contracts. Drafts, negotiates and administers complex agreements
- Interprets and reviews client MSA and SOW documents
- Manages and evaluates claims, audits and requests for information received
- Serves as a liaison between attorneys and client teams
- Creates and implements training materials
- Remains updated on all SAG/AFTRA and AFM guidelines, as well as other industry and legal guidelines (AICP, AICE, FTC, etc.)
Required Skills/Abilities:

- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
- 7+ years of related experience
