Front End Web Developer Intern

McGarrah Jessee is hiring a front-end web developer intern to assist with basic HTML/CSS/Javascript needs. In this role you will work alongside developers and digital designers on a series of agency and client web projects. It is important that you are comfortable working fluidly with team members and are able to pick up or hand off projects at any point in the development process.
Responsibilities:
- Review/prep/code interactive designs/layouts for websites, microsites, emails and banner ads
- Modify and update existing internal and client HTML codebases as needed
- Produce standards-compliant code while adhering to best practices in order to create efficient code from the standpoints of structure, performance, scalability, SEO and design
- Technical duties may include slicing, compressing, scaling, cropping and repositioning images
- Work with both designers and developers to suggest improvements and optimize assets to increase the quality of production and ensure that standards are met
Requirements:
- Basic knowledge of handwritten HTML/CSS/Javascript required (no WYSIWYG)
- Familiar with Photoshop and Illustrator
- An eye for design
- Familiar with basic web development and deployment concepts
- You’ll receive on-the-job mentorship and skill shaping. The position extends up to six months from start
